This Swagelok® FM type, flexible, convoluted hose is 24" long and has 1/4" OD tube adapter ends for connection to Swagelok® tubing compression-type fittings. The 1/4" tubing adapter uses an outward facing nut and ferrule set which then connects to a threaded male swagelok® fitting. A 1/4" nut and ferrule set is required and must be purchased separately.
These FM type hoses feature a working pressure from vacuum to 3100 psig at temperatures from -200°C to 37°C ( -325°F to 100°F) and feature 316L stainless steel annular convoluted inner cores and braided exteriors. The single braid layer of 316L stainless steel promotes hose pressure containment and exhibits strong performance in dynamic cycling applications. End connections are welded to ASME Boiler and pressure Vessel Code Section IX.
These FM series convoluted metal hoses are commonly used in high-temperature vacuum applications and medium-pressure corrosive environments, or where permeation is undesirable.
Industry standard Swagelok® compression-type fittings and components are precision manufactured and offer a gas-tight, metal-on-metal seal. They are available in standard fractional tubing sizes for making up stainless steel tubing. Polished surface finishes and high purity materials virtually eliminate these fittings as a source of system contamination.
They can be used for any fluid flow application and provide leak-tight service from vacuum to positive pressure. These fittings offer consistent gaugeability upon initial installation and are easy to disconnect and retighten reliably.
The two-ferrule design of Swagelok® compression fittings are easy to install and no torque is transmitted to the tubing during installation. The two ferrules separate sealing and tube gripping functions; each ferrule is optimized for its function. Available Swagelok® gap inspection gauges assure sufficient pull-up upon initial installation.
