Serial to USB Cable Connectivity Kit for IVP XG-120 and Other Controllers, Connects Serial RS232 to Computer

This Serial-to-USB Cable Connectivity Kit is used to transfer data from an Ideal Vacuum XG-120 Digital Thermocouple Gauge Controller or any other controller with an RS232 serial output to a remote PLC or computer. It is ideal for computers that do not have a built-in serial port but are equipped with a USB port, as is common with most modern computers.

This kit includes a 6 ft. Serial-to-USB cable and a DB9 null modem adapter (controller sold separately). The cable's DB9 male connector attaches to the included null modem adapter, which connects to the controller's DB9 female serial port. The USB 2.0 Type-A connector plugs directly into an available USB port on the computer.

Some controllers are equipped with a DB25 serial interface instead of a DB9 connector. In these cases, a DB25-to-DB9 adapter (sold separately) is required.

Our Serial-to-USB cable uses the FTDI chipset for maximum compatibility with virtually all recent Windows®, macOS®, and Linux® operating systems. Windows includes built-in drivers for the FTDI chipset.

A variety of free RS232 terminal software programs are available for download, including PuTTY and TERMITE, allowing you to remotely monitor vacuum pressure readings and communicate with supported controllers.
