The Pfeiffer DuoVane 22 C1 XP corrosion-resistant rotary vane vacuum pump includes an explosion-proof motor and is specially prepared for operation with standard hydrocarbon vacuum pump oil. This DuoVane 22 rotary vane vacuum pump provides an excellent ultimate pressure down to 1x10-3 Torr and is commonly used for backing turbomolecular pumps, diffusion pumps, and Roots pumps, as well as for refrigeration system evacuation, epoxy degassing, mass spectrometry, freeze drying, vacuum centrifugation, space research, and other vacuum processes. The Pfeiffer DuoVane 22 vacuum pump has a pumping speed displacement of 14.6 CFM.

This Pfeiffer DuoVane 22 dual-stage rotary vane vacuum pump is brand new and specially designed for pumping corrosive or aggressive gases in chemical industry and R&D applications without the use of PFPE oils. The Pfeiffer DuoVane 22 vacuum pump can be fitted with a variety of optional accessories, including oil mist filters and traps. These vacuum pumps are new, typically stocked in inventory, and ship with the manufacturer's 1-year factory warranty. These explosion-proof rotary vane vacuum pumps include an electrically enclosed explosion-proof motor. The motor is designed to contain an internal ignition event and reduce the risk of ignition of flammable gases or vapors that may be present in the surrounding atmosphere. Explosion-proof vacuum pumps are typically required in applications where flammable materials may accidentally leak into the area in which the pump is operating. Explosion-proof vacuum pumps are NOT designed to evacuate explosive gas or vapor mixtures that could ignite inside the vacuum pump.

When the vacuum pump is used to pump flammable gases, an airtight, closed system must be maintained by:
  • Keeping the gas ballast closed. Opening the gas ballast could allow air (O2) to enter the pump.
  • Ensuring the foreline inlet and exhaust outlet connections are leak-tight to prevent flammable gases from escaping into the surrounding atmosphere and to prevent air (O2) from entering the pump.
  • Using only an inert gas, such as nitrogen (N2), at the gas ballast when purging or diluting harmful gases being pumped.
